When we begin working with a new resident at Arbors Management, we want to make sure we establish and maintain a professional, respectful, and service-oriented relationship. If you’re moving into one of our properties, welcome! We are here to make sure the move-in process is as easy and efficient as possible. We know that moving can be stressful and a bit overwhelming. We’re here to help you and support you in any way we can.
Today, we want to discuss the move-in process and what you can expect from your team here at Arbors.
Establishing your Utility Accounts
After your lease is signed, you will receive some specific move-in instructions that include a lot of utility contact information. You will need to set up utility accounts for the property in your name. Make sure you pay the balance that is due and any deposits that are owed before you receive the keys to your new home. Don’t forget your cable and your internet service as well. A good rental experience starts with preparation, and you’ll want to have the lights on when you arrive at your new home.
Move-In Walk Through
It’s important that everyone agrees on the condition of the property at move-in. We also want to make sure everything in your new home is working and clean. So, our leasing specialist will do a complete walk-through of the property prior to your move-in date. We’ll take care of any light bulbs that need changing, and we’ll make sure everything is working.
You will receive the move-in inspection report when you arrive and move into your home. We will ask you to complete and sign this form that identifies and documents the property’s condition.
While filling out the move-in inspection report, if you notice that there are any issues at the property or repairs that need to be made, you can request those repairs through your online portal. If you’re not yet set up in the online system, you can also reach out to your property manager for help in getting a maintenance request submitted.
We want you to have a positive rental experience, and we’re here to help make that happen. If you have any questions at all while you’re moving into your new home, please contact us at Arbors Management.
